The Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre is seeking enthusiastic, dedicated volunteers to join their Marketing Committee for the exciting upcoming production, Red Letters.

ADVERTISING:
Advertising Coordinator
- Availability between September to November (part-time)
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and purchases advertising for upcoming theatre production
- Modes of advertising will include: Bus shelters, TV, Radio, newspaper and magazines
- Maximize advertising reach within budget provided
Qualifications:
- Marketing or Communications degree (3rd year students may apply)
- Resourceful and media savvy
- Deadline and budget oriented
SPONSORSHIP:
Sponsorship Coordinator
- Availability from August to November 2010 (Part-time)
Responsibilities:
- In charge of attaining sponsorship required for event
- Sources for suitable sponsors, first line of contact and follow up with potential sponsors
- Responsible for hitting targeted amount through sponsorship
- Works closely with Treasurer to ensure collection of any outstanding amounts owed by sponsors
Qualifications:
- Marketing/Business/Communications degree (3rd year students may apply)
- Strong oral and written English communication skills
- 1-2 years Sales/Marketing experience preferred
- Self-starter, independent and assertive
- Strong follow up skills
- Available during the day for phone calls to potential sponsors and advertisers
Advertising Sales Coordinator
- Availability from August to November 2010 (Part-time)
Responsibilities:
- In charge of attaining advertising sales in Program Booklet
- Sources and follows up with advertisers for program booklet
- Responsible for hitting targeted amount through advertising sales
- Responsible for obtaining all ads and working with Program designer for placement of ads
- Works closely with Treasurer to ensure collection of any outstanding amounts owed by advertisers
Qualifications:
- Marketing/Business/Communications degree (3rd year students may apply)
- Strong oral and written English communication skills
- 1-2 years Sales/Marketing experience preferred
- Self-starter, independent and assertive
- Strong follow up skills
- Available during the day for phone calls to potential sponsors and advertisers
Media Sponsor Coordinator
*Availability between August to October (part-time)
Responsibilities:
- In charge of attaining media sponsorship required for event
- Sources for suitable media sponsors, first line of contact and follow up with potential sponsors
Qualifications:
- Public Relations diploma or Communications degree (3rd year students may apply)
- Strong oral and written English communication skills
- Established media contacts preferred, including Chinese media
- Self-starter, independent and assertive
- Strong follow up skills
- Available during the day for phone calls to potential media sponsors
PUBLIC RELATIONS:
Media & Public Relations Coordinator (bilingual)
- Availability between September to December (part-time)
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Marketing Director on development and management of PR strategy
- Determines suitable media outlets to disseminate press releases and event listings
- Identifies and approaches Media Sponsors
- Writes and distributes press releases to various media outlets; creating ‘newsworthy’ stories about the festival
- Liaises with media outlets and pitches stories – attains media spots and publicity
- Event listings in major newspapers and TV networks
Qualifications:
- Public Relations graduate / student currently in 2nd year of BCIT program (or close to completion)
- Strong oral and written English communication skills
- Bilingual in English & Mandarin/Cantonese (strongly preferred)
- Proven experience in creating an effective Media Kit
- Established contacts in the media preferred
- Available during the day to contact media outlets
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
PROMOTIONS:
Promotions Coordinator
- Availability between September to December (part-time)
Responsibilities:
- Oversees design, production & distribution of marketing material (posters, flyers, program booklets, etc); works with Marketing Director and Graphic Designer to create these materials
- Responsible for effective messaging on website and collateral material, including Email Newsletters
- Works closely with the Graphic Designer to produce collateral material such as posters, flyers and event programs
- Identifies strategic locations and businesses to distribute and display promotional materials
- Savvy with Social Media (Facebook, Twitter)
- Knowledge of Print Production
Qualifications:
- Marketing or Communications degree (3rd year students may apply)
- Strong oral and written English communication skills
- Editing skills are essential
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
- Energetic and enthusiastic
- Able to meet deadlines
